Teeth Whitening
Many factors such as aging, genetics, diet, smoking and poor oral hygiene habits can change the appearance of teeth. Teeth whitening is one of the quickest and easiest ways to improve the appearance of your smile, and when it’s done under the supervision of a professional, it’s safe and effective. At our practice we offer in-office and at-home teeth whitening options to help patients obtain the smile they’ve always wanted.
Dental Fillings
To treat caries your dentist will remove the decayed portion of the tooth and then "fill" the area. Fillings are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from harmful habits such as grinding and nail biting.
Today, several dental filling materials are available. Teeth can be filled with gold, silver amalgam, or tooth-colored composite resin materials. There is also a material that contains glass particles and is known as glass ionomer.
Crown and Bridge
If you are someone who has cracked, missing, damaged, or weak teeth, you might be a great candidate for crowns and bridges.
Dental crowns are best described as a material that completely covers a damaged tooth. Our crowns can be made to match the color of your teeth, providing a very natural look. Dental bridges are used to replace a missing tooth. Bridges are typically connected to your natural teeth to fill any gaps from missing or shifting teeth.
Veneers
Smile designs are made with veneers, prosthetic devices used in cosmetic dentistry. It is a layer of material that is placed on the tooth to improve the aesthetics of a smile or protect the tooth surfaces.
Direct Veneers are made of composite resin and indirect veneers are made with feldspathic porcelain, zirconia, or lithium disilicate.
Implants
An alternative used in the replacement of teeth are implants. Today, advances in the techniques and materials used have made these an extraordinary alternative in the replacement of lost parts. The procedure is simple, but involves several phases and teamwork.
An Oral Rehabilitation specialist designs the type of restoration that will be placed on dental implants. This indicates to an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist the places where the implants must be placed for the success of your restoration. These implants are surgically placed into your bone. After several months (3 to 6), in a second phase they are exposed to the oral cavity, to allow the oral rehabilitation specialist to complete their restorations. As mentioned above, this is a team procedure and generally takes six (6) to ten (10) months to complete the treatment.
